It seems that in the end my problem was the firewall, I had already allowed everything, but I decided to deactivate it and there it went. Thank you!

When I want to start dnSpy I can't cuz I have to install Microsoft NET 4.7.1.... I downloaded it, click on install and then the installation will fail... I can't start dnSpy Idk what to do... Any suggestions? :(

Hello all. New here but just wanted to ask for help about the problem I have. I am no way a novice when it comes to PCs. I can pretty much get my head around doing most things. But I just cant seem to get this to work. 

The steps I took exactly. I started fresh to avoid contamination from other settings & so on. 

  1. I downloaded the RSM. I set my IP to the Hamachi IP.
    I used this method playing on legitimate servers with my purchased Rust client without problems. 
  2. I then downloaded Steam CMD, then downloaded the sever files. Main (Recommended).
  3. I then added these server variables.
    server.secure=False
    Valve Anti Cheat=False
    Easy Anti Cheat=False
    Anti Hack=False
  4. Opened up dnSpy & opened up the file Assembly-CSharp.dll in the directory specified
    Followed the instructions exactly, changing the ID to 480u from the previous one & then saved All, overwriting the original.
  5. Started the server & showed the following.
    Facepunch.Steamworks Unity: WindowsPlayer
    Facepunch.Steamworks Os: Windows
    Facepunch.Steamworks Arch: x64
    Setting breakpad minidump AppID = 480
    Connected to Steam
    eac_server.dll [x64] :: hModule: 00007FFDDBB10000 dwReason: 1 lpvReserved: 0
    Server startup complete.
  6. I already have rust installed by steam. But I have the downloaded Knights Table Rust v2108 Bandit town update & put it in a directory of its own. 
  7. I open up RustClient.exe. 
    Game load into the menu normally & displayed the server I started up from history when I tried this before starting afresh again. 
    I changed server name & description but keeping the IP to be sure the game see's my server correctly & it does.
  8. I click on server & click join. GameManager Warmup shows. Then a few seconds later, I get the following error.

    I don't know what I am missing or doing wrong. I followed the details exactly. However, it shows 9 modded servers in the client & I am able to connect to those servers without error. It just wont connect to my server.

I have the appid 480 in the server and the client , and the players can join with the IP , but idk why cant show in the modded tab. and have the last version v2108

If you have done everything right and perfectly cracked the server you created. you can join it with any cracked client, also you do not need to find the server in the list as cracked server will not appear there.  you can directly connect the server with Server IP i.e. press F1 (Open console) client.connect PublicIP:Port. Make sure if you want to make it public you must need to open ports.

I'm currently trying to get a cracked server for Rust v2126

(I downloaded this client: https://skidrowgamereloaded.co/56-rust-rpg.html )

The server files were downloaded with steamCMD around december 1. , so they should match.

When i tried the appID fix with dnSpy, i noticed that the appID was already 480u ...?!

trying to join the localserver configured with "server.secure false" and "server.encryption 0" results in SteamAuthFail...

Could it be that my client is incompatible (wrong hack)?

What client did David Cammack use (and which rust version)?

Both client and server need to be the same network protocol and same appid

hmm...

cant find it in Inside Facepunch.Raknet.dll. (only a "public uint protocol" decalration)

searching for Protocol i found this(in both server+client):

System.dll->Mono.AppleTls.SslStatus-> line 10:

// Token: 0x040009F5 RID: 2549
        Protocol = -9800,

the value is equal foe both client and server.

i got it working!

turns-out i accidently opened the CLIENT Assembly-CSharp.dll to change the appID to 480u...my bad.

I guess it was getting a bit too early in tthe morning...

Step 3: Cracking Assembly-CSharp.dll to change appid 

open up dnspy.exe 

click file at the top, click on open, navigate to the folder where you downloaded the rust files, click on RustDedicated_Data from there click on Managed then click on Assembly-CSharp.dll to open it in dnspy (caps below)

When that has opened up you will need to click on assembly-csharp to expand

so it will look like this

you will then need to click on rust 

Rust Namespace

click on defines 

Rust.Defines

Right Click to bring up this menu and then click on edit class (c#)

it will open a new window like this

you will need to change this 


public static uint appID = 252490u;

to


public static uint appID = 480u;

Rust.Defines (AppId Changed)


now click compile 

 

it will look like this

now click back on file and click save all, ok to the popup.


now you should have a cracked rust server

hi i have done everything and when i finally try to run the cracked server it says "Starting Server...
This may take a while... If it takes longer than 2 minutes to pass this message please make sure RustDedicated.exe is not running in the task manager or Try clicking in CMD and press enter a few times" and still like that forever , help please .
